Dr. Brad Alpert

Dr. AlpertDr. Brad Alpert is a board certified pediatrician, a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics, and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. After obtaining his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, he completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. He has done postdoctoral fellowship training in children’s lung diseases at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and forensic pediatrics at Brown University School of Medicine. Dr. Alpert has served on the pediatric faculties of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Temple University School of Medicine, and the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Before joining Pediatrics West, he practiced at Wachusett Pediatrics in Westminster, MA where he was the founder and president. His clinical interests include asthma and other lung disease, allergies, and acid reflux. Dr. Alpert practices at our Fitchburg office.

Dr. Andreas Athanasiou

Dr. AndreasDr. Andreas Athanasiou is a board certified pediatrician and received his medical degree from the University of Athens, Greece, in 1970. He completed pediatric residency at Roosevelt Hospital, NYC and was Pediatric Chief Resident at Beth Israel Hospital from 1973 to 1974. Dr. Athanasiou also completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at the New England Medical Center Boston and was an instructor in pediatrics at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Athanasiou on Active staff at Lowell General Hospital and has been an active member of the Emerson Hospital Medical Staff since 1983.  Dr. Athanasiou practices at our Westford Office.

Dr. Megan Church

Dr. ChurchDr. Megan Church is a board certified pediatrician. She grew up in Lynn, MA. She received her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed her pediatrics training through Massachusetts General Hospital. After residency she taught and worked as a primary care physician in Worcester. Her clinical interests include: newborn care, early childhood development, preventive medicine, patient education/counseling, asthma management, urgent care and allergies. Dr. Church is a member of the courtesy staff at Lowell General Hospital and an active member of the Emerson Medical Staff since 2016.  Dr. Church practices at our Westford office.

Dr. Russell Coleman

Dr. ColemanDr. Russell Coleman is a board certified pediatrician and received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry after completing his undergraduate study at Cornell University, New York. He completed his pediatric residency at Children’s Medical Center of Dayton, Ohio in 1995. Dr. Coleman’s interests include asthma and allergies, school problems, and the use of computers in medicine. Dr. Coleman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics. He also serves as the school physician for the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District,  the Nashoba Regional School District, Innovation Academy, and Academy of Notre Dame. Dr. Coleman is a member of the courtesy staff at Lowell General Hospital and has been an active member of the Emerson Hospital Medical Staff since 1997.  Dr. Coleman sees patients at our Groton and Fitchburg offices.

Dr. James Daly

Dr. DalyDr. James Daly is a board certified pediatrician. After growing up in Willimantic, Connecticut, he received his undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. He received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School and completed his pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin where he served an extra year as chief resident. His clinical interests include well child care, newborn care, childhood obesity, and children with complex medical issues. Dr. Daly is a member of the courtesy staff at Lowell General Hospital and has been an active member of the Emerson Hospital Medical Staff since 2016.  Dr. Daly sees patients at our Westford office.

Dr. Joan Eagan

Dr. EaganDr. Joan Eagan is a board certified pediatrician who completed her undergraduate study at the University of Virginia and Post Baccalaureate Pre Med Program at Tufts University. She received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed the Boston Combined Residency Program at Children’s Hospital Boston and Boston Medical Center. Her clinical interests include well child care, newborn medicine, adolescent medicine, and sports medicine. Dr. Eagan serves as the school physician for the Westford school system, is a member of the courtesy staff at Lowell General Hospital, and has been an active member of the Emerson Hospital Medical Staff since 2005. She is also the Assistant Chair of the Dept of Pediatrics at Emerson.  Dr. Eagan sees patients at our Westford office.

Dr. Behzad Goharfar

Dr. Goharfar
Dr. Goharfar is a board-certified pediatrician. He is originally from Iran where he attended Medical School at Tehran University. Dr Goharfar then did his Pediatrics Residency at Children’s Medical Center Hospital in Tehran and worked as a Pediatrician for 10 years before immigrating to the United States. Upon arriving to the United States, he completed his Pediatrics Residency at Harlem Hospital, New York, NY, and worked as a Pediatrician since 2012 for the Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato, MN. In his free time, Dr. Goharfar enjoys spending time with his spouse and daughter and learning about life in New England.

Dr. Karen Hiltunen

Dr. HiltunenDr. Karen Hiltunen is a board certified pediatrician. She completed her undergraduate study at Harvard University and received her medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She completed her residency and internship at University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Her clinical interests include well child care, asthma and allergies, and newborn care. Dr. Hiltunen previously practiced pediatrics in Harvard, MA, is a member of the courtesy staff at Lowell General Hospital, and has been an active member of the Emerson Hospital Medical Staff since 2002.  Dr. Hiltunen practices at our Groton office.  Languages spoken: English

Dr. Eliza Jones

Dr. JonesDr. Eliza Jones is a board certified pediatrician. She completed her undergraduate study at Amherst College and received her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, CT. She completed her residency at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY. Her clinical interests include well child care, developmental delays, and children with special needs. Dr. Jones previously practiced in Boston, MA.  Dr. Jones sees patients at our Groton office.

Dr. Michelle Sanders

Dr. SandersDr. Michelle Sanders is a board certified pediatrician. She completed her undergraduate work at Williams College and then spent four years teaching high school before earning her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children in Boston. Her clinical interests include newborn care, well child care, growth and development of former preemies, and care of children with complex medical issues. Dr. Sanders is a member of the courtesy staff at Lowell General Hospital and has been an active member of the Emerson Hospital Medical Staff since 2002.  Dr. Sanders practices at our Westford Office.

Dr. James Sheehy

Dr. SheehyDr. James Sheehy is a board certified pediatrician. He is a Lexington native and received his undergraduate degree from Tufts University. He received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed his residency at Tufts University Baystate Medical Center where he served an extra year as chief resident. His clinical interests include well child care, preventative medicine, musculoskeletal disorders, dermatology, and adolescent medicine. Dr. Sheehy is a member of the courtesy staff at Lowell General Hospital and has been an active member of the Emerson Hospital Medical Staff since 2009.  Dr. Sheehy practices at our Westford office.

Dr. Susan Voute

Dr. VouteDr. Susan Voute is a board certified pediatrician. She completed her undergraduate study at John Carroll University and received her medical degree from University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. She also completed her residency at University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Her clinical interests include newborn care, well child care, and adolescent medicine. Dr. Voute previously practiced pediatrics in Webster, MA. Dr. Voute has been an active member of the Emerson Hospital Medical Staff since 2013.  Dr. Voute practices at our Fitchburg office.

Dr. David Watson

Dr. WatsonDr. David Watson is a board certified pediatrician and received his medical degree from Sydney University Medical School, Australia. He completed residencies at Mater Hospital in Australia, Greenwich Hospital and Whittington Hammersmith, both in London, and Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Watson also completed a fellowship in cardiology at Children’s Hospital in Boston. His special clinical interest is Sports Medicine for children and young adults. Dr. Watson is a member of the courtesy staff at Lowell General Hospital and has been an active member of the Emerson Hospital Medical Staff since 1976.
